Measurable Outcomes

“I now have an understanding of what happened to me, why and how to keep it from happening again in the future.”

“I can do anything I set my mind to.”

survivors

We make a difference in the lives of domestic violence survivors. How do we know that?

  • 94.4% of survivors strongly agree or agree that our services helped them make informed choices about their situation.
  • 95.2% of survivors strongly agree or agree that working with our agency taught them new ideas about how to stay safe.
  • 92% of survivors strongly agree or agree that after working with our agency they know more about available resources and how to access them.

In our new domestic violence awareness project, we have accomplished these results:

  • 100% of presentation attendees reported on their feedback forms an increase in their knowledge of domestic violence. The increase across adult and youth audiences averaged 51%, when comparing the before and after scores of knowledge of the presentation’s content (60% for adults, 38% for high school students).
  • In the first half of this fiscal year (July-December 2007), we registered 6,576 volunteer hours, an 80% increase in volunteer hours compared to a 3-year average before the project.

We invite you to support our efforts to achieve these outcomes. Click here to find out what survivors say about our services. Click here to make a contribution. Thank you for your support!

We are overhauling our measurement processes to improve monitoring of our services’ impact. For example, AJ Grovert, a volunteer at Monika’s House Shelter and a graduate student at Pacific University working on her master’s thesis, is developing a measurement tool to evaluate the impact of shelter stay during and after exit. We’re also working on improving our data collection and analysis of children’s and parents’ reports of post-traumatic stress. Please check back soon for updates.
