Training

Depending on the work performed within the agency, all volunteers and interns must complete a certain number of training hours.

Our agency provides the training at least 2 times per year, typically in the fall (September/October), and spring (March/April). Following the completion of the training, each person will work with the program director to learn program-specific skills and procedures. Training graduates who attend all the classes will receive a certificate, transferable for work in other agencies.

Click here for the next training schedule, taking place in April 2010.  The training is held at our office and other locations in the county and sessions are limited to 20 people.

Training Exceptions

It is possible to waive parts of the training for new staff/volunteers who have completed training through other domestic violence and/or sexual assault programs or volunteer trainings. In these instances, the original agency must verify training attendance and provide documentation that their training meets the current state requirements.
