Leave a legacy

image

Estate planning is a meaningful way to leave a legacy beyond your productive years and even beyond your lifetime. Some planned giving instruments are also a great way to reduce your tax liability during retirement.

Currently, Domestic Violence Resource Center offers the most straightforward option to leave a legacy: bequest through will. Your will ensures your property will be distributed according to your wishes. Bequests are not taxable. Most importantly, your bequest will ensure that future victims and survivors of domestic violence will receive the assistance they need to lead safe, healthy, and productive lives.

You can make 3 kinds of bequests.

  • Specific bequest: you specify the amount that you wish to bequest to victims and survivors of domestic violence.
  • Percentage bequest: you specify the percentage of your estate that you wish to give.
  • Residual bequest: you state that Domestic Violence Resource Center receives the remainder of your estate after other distributions and fees have been made.
