Editorial: Spring Has Sprung

Spring is here, rain or shine, putting the Christmas holiday giving season safely away until next December. Have you asked yourself what happens after the season of giving passes? It’s simple: life goes on and so does the need for supporting domestic violence survivors.

Our spring online donation drive aims to pick up where holiday giving left off and bridge the funding gap that occurs this time of year. Be it for a specific program or service, or for our general fund so we can allocate your contribution where the greatest need is, donating through our website makes a huge difference. Please help us meet our goal of $10,000 in website donations by the end of May!

We invite you to join the fast-growing community of our online supporters. Just consider that, compared to the previous year, in 2007 we received 246% more in online donations from 175% more online donors. That is an amazing expression of support, not only for our agency and the survivors we serve, but for online giving as well. With your help, we can do even better this year.

Here’s what some of the recent online donors have said about their experience:

“My friend in Florida just finished up her dissertation focused on domestic violence. I was trying to decide what to give her as a graduation gift, and I thought that a donation to our local domestic violence center would be perfect. I am very happy I could help out at this time.Your on-line donation page was very easy to use and I hope you receive more help in the near future!” Nicole, 1st online donor of 2008

“I wanted to give a little from each pay check to something that I felt strongly about. I feel very honored to be able to help any way I can, and would like to continue to give. Thank you.” Rachel, online donor

“We decided the balance of the [kicker] check should go to a local organization supporting those in need. I did some research online and believed that supporting [Domestic Violence Resource Center] was a very worthy cause.” Maureen, online donor

Donating online is simple, fast, and secure. Plus you save paper and postage it would take to mail in your donation. (Yes, it does save the forests, too.) Try it out for yourself! To donate now with a few clicks of your mouse, click here. Heartfelt thanks for your support!
