Annual Candlelight Vigil

In its 11th year in 2008, the Candlelight Vigil will take place in a different format that in the past. Details coming soon. Meanwhile, please check out the report on the 10th Anniversary event or with questions.

Domestic Violence 101 – 40-Hour Training

Our quarterly 40-hour domestic violence training for staff, interns, volunteers, and the general public is a great opportunity to highlight your company’s company’s commitment to protecting your employees from abuse at home. For more information about the training (topics, schedules) click here.

Sponsorship levels

All levels: Each session you sponsor will be identified in the training materials (packets, handouts) and on the website as “presented by YourCompanyName”. Your sponsorship is applicable for the next available training. We ask that you notify us of your wish to sponsor the training, regardless of the level, at least 14 days before the start of the next training. Otherwise, your sponsorship will be applied to the following training.

1 training session of your choice
Benefits: 1-minute presentation of your company at the start of the session; company brochure included in the session handout; free session handouts for up to 10 employees of your company in attendance

5 training sessions of your choice during the next available training
Benefits: 1-minute presentation of your company at the start of the 1st, 3rd, and 5th sessions (each presentation should be different); company brochure included in the session handout; free session handouts at each session for up to 10 employees of your company in attendance

1 entire quarterly training (next available), which typically consists of approx. 10 sessions
Benefits: 3-minute presentation of your company at the training’s first and final sessions + 3-minute presentations at the beginning of the 3rd, 5th, and 7th sessions (each presentation should be different); company brochure included in the training packet; free training packets with information for all sessions for up to 10 employees of your company in attendance; one 1-hour training by our staff at your site on a domestic violence-related topic of your choice

Open House

Open House is an annual event held at our business office location before Mother’s Day in late April/early May with the aim to present our agency’s community benefit to the public and partner organizations. The 3rd Annual Open House is tentatively scheduled for May 1, 2008. The 2-hour event consists of presentations and program displays, survivor testimonials, networking, refreshments, raffle, children’s artwork display, and more

Guests at the first two Open Houses included: Scott Burgess (CEO, Rivermark Credit Union), Lorraine Clarno (President, Beaverton Chamber of Commerce), Craig Dirksen (Mayor of Tigard), Ron Louie (Chief, Hillsboro Police Department), Elena Uhing (City Councilor, Forest Grove), and many other distinguished and concerned members of the community.

Past corporate partners included: Beaverton Sub Station, Haggen Foods, Mt. Hood Beverage Company, National College of Natural Medicine, New Seasons Market, Pacific Northwest Wine Club, Starbucks Coffee, and Vino100.
