Champion eNewsletter 1.8 (March 2008)

Wish List: March ‘08

We receive many calls from our community asking whether we take donations of a variety of items. Beginning with this issue of Champion, we will post the list of most-needed items for the month.

March may bring a certain “madness” to your home and you may need a break from it all. Here at Domestic Violence Resource Center, the needs are much more prosaic. Help us become an even stronger voice for domestic violence survivors in your community by donating:

  • Gift cards of any kind for the Survivor Empowerment Fund
  • Refrigerator for the lunch room at the business office
  • Tool set for Monika’s House Shelter
  • Security system for Monika’s House Shelter
  • Laptop computers
  • Disposable cameras for restraining/stalking order petitioners
  • Cell phones

Please call before donating any item, even if it is on the list. We are unable to accept unsolicited donations. All items should be new or in excellent condition (a good rule to consider is: If someone were to donate the item to you, would you accept and use it?) Generally speaking we are not able to pick up donations from your location.

If you have an item you wish to donate that is not on the list, including clothing, visit Donors Resource, an online community giving directory that connects people to organizations, collection drives, and fund raisers.

For more information, call Sonja Farster or Shanya Luther at 503.640.5352 x313.

Thank you for your support.
