Shopping for children between the ages of 5 and 13? Purchase a puppet-making kit and support survivors at Monika’s House Shelter!
Looking for a fun and meaningful gift for a child in your life? Purchase a make-your-own-puppet kit that’s educational, fun and hands-on.
The puppet kits contain a variety of materials for a parent, or other loved one, and their child to create four puppets. Add felt pieces, buttons, or wiggly eyes to create your own favorite character. The process of making these puppets provides a creative learning experience for your child as they interact with a variety of materials, colors, and textures. Each puppet kit is $15.
Puppets facilitate imaginative play in children. Therapeutically,
● Play with puppets helps children to exteriorize emotions, feelings of conflict, allowing self-expression through symbolic play with their puppet;
● It allows children to be able to displace difficult feelings, such as anger at a family member or bully at school, and be able to work out appropriate ways to deal with such feelings through the puppet;
● It also offers physical and psychological safety for the child as they explore situations as the puppet character rather than as themselves. This creates safety for them in learning how to express and process emotions.
These puppet kits were created by the residents of Monika’s House, a shelter for survivors of domestic violence. It was the goal of the survivors to help children, like their own, to learn safe ways of self-expression. The proceeds of this puppet kit benefit the Survivor Empowerment Fund used by survivors in economic distress, including residents of Monika’s House, to purchase items they could not otherwise afford.
100% of the proceeds from the $15-a-kit directly benefit survivors in need at Monika’s House Shelter. The puppet kits were designed by Masters-level children’s counselors to help nurture relationships between parent and child.

Print materials are available for download. All files available for download are property of Domestic Violence Resource Center. All rights reserved. The files available for download are intended for personal use only. Printing of up to 10 copies or forwarding is permitted. We will also be happy to mail you up to 10 copies of each print item free of charge. We will invoice you for larger quantities of these items (beginning at 50 count). Ordering and delivery
To order any of the above items, please (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) us. Shipping and handling is $5.00 unless you pick up the order in person at our business office.
Payment
Organizations: Your order will ship within 5 business days. We will include an invoice with your order. Payable within 30 days of delivery.
Individuals: For orders of up to $49.99 (includes shipping and handling), we will ship your order within 5 business days of receiving payment by check. For orders of $50.00 and over (includes shipping and handling), we will ship your order within 5 business days of payment confirmation by our bank.
Checks must be made payable to Domestic Violence Resource Center, and include a phone number and valid driver’s license number. We cannot process credit card payments at this time.
