Cost: $500 for outside participants (non-DVRC interns or volunteers)
Time: 9 am to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, April 16-20, 2012
Place: Multiple locations in Washington County

ALL 40+ hours of the training are mandatory according to State requirements; if you are an intern/volunteer* you must have your supervisor’s approval to miss or make-up any training sessions and all exceptions must be properly documented. For community members taking the training any missed sessions will disqualify you from certification of completion of the 40-hour training. Please see the Registration Form for more details.
*If you have interviewed and been accepted as an intern, volunteer or new staff person with our agency. If you have questions about the training please ask your supervisor.

- Safety Planning - 1 hr
- Dynamics of and Working with Law Enforcement - .5 hr
- Effects of Domestic Violence on: Elder and Disabled People - 1 hr
- Dynamics of and Working with the Legal System - 1 hr
- Dynamics of and Working with Protective Orders - 2 hrs
- Dynamics of and Working with Abusers - 3 hrs
- Effects of Domestic Violence on: Diverse Cultures 1.5 hrs
- Intimate Violence: Stalking - 2.5 hrs
- Crisis Response and Advocacy - 1.5 hrs
- Effects of Domestic Violence on: Women and Men - 1.5 hrs
- Foundations of Counseling - 3 hrs
- Dynamics of and Working with Survivors - 2 hrs
- Effects of Domestic Violence on: Children - 3 hrs
- Intimate Violence: Dating Violence - 1.5 hrs
- Domestic Violence and Substance Abuse
- Effects of Domestic Violence on: Sexual and Gender Minorities
- Intimate Violence: Sexual Assault TBA TBA / Facilitator: TBA These two training days are being offered by the Domestic Violence Surrogate Dialogue. This training is not required, but is highly recommended - particularly for those interns intending to work with adult survivors. Past participants expressed that they wished they’d had the training early in their internship and so DVSD is doing this training especially for any of you that want to participate.
